Getting Settled

We have been in Weatherford a little over two weeks and we have been busy with many activities.  Anna and I had to take Alan and Andrew to the Funky Monkey.  Last year, my good friend Brenda brought us here and knew we had to share this with the rest of the family.  They make regular snow cones but they are known for their specialty snow cone with ice cream and whip cream.  

Our first Sunday back, I was already put back on the Praise Team and given a solo. I have also been rehearsing with our Praise Team for Peach Festival which is coming up Saturday.  I have also been to doing mandatory training for WISD.

Anna went to June camp at church not as a participant because she is too old now, but to be a helper.  She loves little kids and seems to love to help them and teach them.  She has also been going with her age group at church called Sycamore Climbers and loves it.  She is looking forward to spending some time with her best friend from WCS really soon.

Andrew and Alan have been busy with things around the house or other projects.  We have a meet and greet for Alan's teams in Millsap on Friday.  

We have been to the Library twice already and Andrew spent some time Friday with his pal Colton who also goes to WCS.

We have not been here that long, but it feels like we have been here at least a month now. 

On the Move Again

Three years ago we moved to South Texas and the last week in May, we made the decision to move back to Weatherford in North Texas.  I got my dream job at a 6A feeder middle school here and Alan will be coaching Softball and Basketball at Millsap.  We found a house in a newer neighborhood near Weatherford High.  Anna loves the fact that we have a two story.  Alan and I love the fact that we do not have to visit a bunch of different church's. Andrew just loves the fact that we are back in Weatherford and getting to return to WCS. 

As with any move, there is an adjustment period whether you are returning to a place or moving to a new place.  Alan and I have had our share of both while for our kids, this is their first time to move back to a place they know well.

The Last Week of School 2016

School has come to a close.  In the picture below is Anna's first day back to school in over a week.  She still did not look that great.  She did not participate much in field day because she still didn't feel well.  There were awards, field trips, parties and a lot of fun for the students

Andrew's 13th Birthday

I can't believe Andrew is a teenager!  These 13 years flew by fast and I am told they are about to get faster.  Andrew had requested that we go to Red Lobster after church for his birthday and come back home and have Ice Cream cake and presents.  Anna got a really bad case of strep throat and she ran fever for nine days.  We ended up staying home from church but had Andrew's party and then the following weekend, we took him to Red Lobster after church.  His birthday was on a Monday, so I surprised him with Breakfast at Sonic and brought him Subway to School for lunch and then asked if he could have a Sonic drink after school.  I think he knows how to celebrate.  Andrew had a Lego Star Wars theme for his birthday and received gifts from both sets of Grandparents, his Aunt Shara, Uncle Bud and Aunt Marva, Anna and of course Alan and me.  When we sold our house in Weatherford back in March. Andrew and Anna were not happy with us.  Alan and I decided to take some of the money and get Andrew an XBOX One.  He has asked for one for at least two years.   He had a great birthday.

Time Marches ON

Since the last post, we have had some exciting events in the Weaver house hold.  Anna played Upwards basketball again and this year she was given the ball more and even made a basket.  She has improved quite a bit since last year.  She participated in Jump Rope for Heart again this year and last week we got an email from the Spurs saying that she earned a free ticket and was given the opportunity to go down on the court and shoot a free throw.  It was a lot of fun for all of us and I know Alan was a proud dad.  Anna also raised the most money at her school.

Andrew also played basketball for Kenedy and is now in Track season.  He did not get home from his first track meet until 12:30 in the morning.  He was exhausted the next day.  I asked him if he fell asleep in class and he said he did, but that the teachers were not hard on any of the Track athletes.  He has had some stomach issues for the past two years and in the last five months he has gotten worse.  We finally got into a specialist over a week ago and decided to do an endoscopy on him.  He had that done yesterday, the poor kid has been through a lot but he was a trooper.  We will not know the results of his biopsies for a few days but the doctor did show us the pictures and he does for sure have gastritis.

Alan has had an exciting basketball season.  For the first time since 2005, the Lady Leopards made the playoffs.  Not only that, but Alan was named Coach of the Year in basketball for District 30 2A.  The Softball team also had a great season and went to the playoffs as well.

The Closing of Another School Year

We have had great things happen this year and this year has brought some challenges for all of us but we have been able to overcome them.  That is important what is important!
