Advent

We have started the Advent season. Both kids got their Advent devotional books in Bible Class today and were so excited to start the season. I went to the grocery store for about an hour today and when I got back, Andrew and Anna ran to the door and said, "Mom, come look, the Christmas tree is up." There was so much excitement busting out of our house that it was contagious. I found myself as excited as they both were. After our Advent reading, Andrew and Anna did a skit based on the Christmas story. Andrew then did one as Jesus calling his disciples to follow him and also re-enacted the "Jesus walks on water" story. Good imaginations and good memory retention of the stories. I wished I had recorded it.

Thanksgiving

We started out Thanksgiving by stopping at Natty Flats which is about 13 miles south of Mineral Wells. They have good Bar-B-Que, a gift shop, outhouses and the world's largest rocking chair. This has become a annual stop. We spent our Thanksgiving with Alan's family in Midland. Alan's parents took us to the Petroleum museum which was the first time I had ever been. The kids were very interested in the race car exhibit. Enjoy the movie from the week.

Imaginations Soar

So it's Saturday morning, and I am greeted by two excited kids who are on their way out to build an airplane. I told them great! Have fun. A few minutes later I glanced out at the game room and saw this.

As you can see there are two seats and the two wings out to the side. Andrew is the pilot and Anna is the passenger drawing pictures as she is traveling.

Our Random Fall Days

Our Falls are always busy, fun and full of action. Between making carmel apples, to football games or taking a trip to a funeral, we try to make each memorable.

When we went to Menaw's funeral (Alan's Great Grand Mother) in Brady, we stop in Brownwood. I showed the kid's where I lived, went to school, where Grandad's two stores were (they like the fact he owned a Doughnut shop) and where our favorite place to eat was. I also showed them the famous bridge where we parked during a hail storm and tornado. We ate dinner at Underwoods. It brought back so many memories and the taste of the food is still the same. However, I had to settle for just smelling of the rolls and cherry cobbler. I did enjoy the expressions on Andrew and Annna's face when they tried that famous Cherry cobbler. After Menaw's funeral, we stopped by the Heart of Texas Park and took pictures of the kid's standing on the observation tower of the "Heart of Texas."

The last few pictures are of Anna and Andrew having a picnic at Alan's last playoff game of the season. It was a good season and has been a good fall so far.

Sunday Morning Church

When we are sick and are unable to get to church, we always have an alternative. When Andrew and Anna realized that we were not making it to church this morning, Andrew ran to get his story book Bible and he and Anna sat in the floor and Andrew read Anna the Creation story. I was surprised at how many words Andrew could read or figure out himself. When he was done reading he led Anna in a very sweet prayer.

After he was done, I said, "Andrew, you were a good preacher today." He smiled and said, "Thanks Mom!"

Finally, it's here.

Andrew and Anna went to Weatherford's 1st Baptist Church Fall Festival last October. Everytime we drive by that church, both kids talk about their exciting time there and talked about how they can't wait to go back and get cotton candy. Well it finally came. Andrew dressed up like a Bumblebee Transformer and Anna went as Tinkerbell. They went and had a blast. This year Dad came along and was amazed at how big an event it was. We also took time to go over to South Main Church of Christ and attend their Trunk or Treat. Many of Alan's students from school asked him to bring the kids by so they could fill them up with Candy. Let's just say we could open our own candy store. Here are pictures from that night.

Pumpkin Patch and Carmel Apples

Here are few pictures from our mums that Alan got Anna and me, the pumpkin patch and the kids making carmel apples. I love fall! By the way Happy Birthday Mom! We love you!

Changing Over

Google Pages changed up their web sites so I decided it was time to try blog spot again. When I get the hang of this, there will be more pictures very soon. I have so many from homecoming through this morning to post.
