The First Day of School

Thursday was Andrew's first day of Second Grade and Anna's first day of Pre-K at Weatherford Christian.  I have been so excited that Anna is old enough to go to the same school as Andrew.  Less hassle for both Alan and I to go to two different places to drop off and pick up the kids.

Anna was ready for school and so excited about being in Mrs. Rachel's class.  Mrs. Rachel goes to our church and so she has become comfortable with her.

We get the kids ready for the TRADITIONAL first day of school pictures, take the pictures, send the pictures to family immediately.  I watch as both kids walked to Alan's truck to get in.  Anna just looked so cute in her little school uniform, her Tinkerbell lunch box and back pack.........I waved goodbye, walked in the house and out of no where......the tears came.  I was not prepared for that at all.  I had been thinking about how much easier it is going to be to pick up my kids everyday and how sooner we will be home in the afternoon.  Now I am an emotional wreck, crying and I have to be in in service in about 45 minutes.  Just like with Andrew on his first day of Kindergarten, I will never forget the image of Anna, in her uniform and her lunch box and back pack waving goodbye to me.  The time is going way too fast for me.

I started another tradition that my mom started with my brother and me while we were in school.  On the first day of school, we always got a special treat.  This year, the kids got their special treat on Friday at Brahms.  They of course, loved it.

Are you ready for some football?

We had the team over for a celebration of a new football season.  The kids really got into helping me decorate.  The footballs/helmets were Andrew's ideas and Anna had a hand in the Pom Poms!

Summer 2010

Here are some pictures of our trip to Memphis and of the move of my brother and his family to Alabama.

The summer has flown by way too fast.  School is starting soon and both kids will be at the same school.  Anna is so excited to be going to school with her brother.

Saturday, we will have the football team over for lunch to kick off the new season and to celebrate the end of two-a-days.
